From December 13-14, 2023, the 9th International Symposium on Transportation Network Resilience (INSTR2023) was held in Hong Kong. The symposium, co-organized by the University of Hong Kong’s Institute of Transport Studies and the Department of Civil Engineering, covered various aspects of traffic analysis, planning, design, control, and management. It served as a significant gathering for global professionals interested in the resilience and reliability of transportation networks.

Dr. Simon Hu, the head of TSELab, chaired a sub-session discussion themed “Traffic Prediction.” Additionally, TSELab member Xinlong Huang’s paper, “MASTGAT: A Multi-Attribute Spatial-Temporal Graph Attention Network for Traffic Prediction,” was accepted and presented at the conference.

Beyond this session, the conference hosted over twenty sub-sessions focusing on themes like “Transportation Network Reliability” and “Evacuation and Disaster Relief.” Experts and scholars from the global transportation field came together to share and discuss the latest research and future directions in this increasingly important area of study.
